GREEN INITIATIVES
Pella Printing Company is certified from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Dedicated to promoting the responsible management of the world's forests, FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit international organization providing trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in promoting green forestry practices. FCS certification will ensure that the paper stock used by Pella Printing is manufactured from wood harvested from well-managed forests.
Chain-of-custody is the process of tracking and recording the possession and transfer of wood from the forest of origin, through the various stages of production, to the end user. To use the FSC logo, the end product must have flowed through the FSC "chain-of-custody" from a FSC-certified forest, to a paper manufacturer, merchant and finally to a print manufacturer like Pella Printing, while adhering to rigorous, ongoing FSC standards.
In addition to FCS certification, Pella Printing employs other "green" practices to minimize waste and recycle material when possible. We are committed to using environmentally friendly chemicals, recyclable papers and soy-based inks. Our new office/ manufacturing facility features a state-of-the-art climate control system and was designed with plenty of large windows to allow for maximum natural light, greatly enhancing the energy efficiency of our operation.
